Crochet

I work in natural fibers, largely cotton and bamboo, in order to create both the amusing and the decorative. Using a tight knot, and a thin cotton, the above hen was constructed using the amigurumi technique. Using larger yarn and a less tense knot, I also create mandala’s an other colorful patterns. The techniques gained from my experience with wirework has translated well into this medium.

Journal Binding

Born from my own love of writing, I began book-binding about ten years ago when I taught a class on both paper-making and bookbinding for middle and high school students. I’ve since combined my embroidery skills to these works of art.

Felt

My daughter has necessitated my leap into the whimsical with fiber arts. I’ve crafted an array of woodland and farmland critters for her collection, and these items are occasionally offered for sale.
